CBC Joined us on our July 21st
iYellow Wine Tour! Here's their pitch to iYellow Wine Tour attendees...

"So you think you have a good palate for wine. Great, but which kind – CBC Television wants to know.

Everyone thinks they know a good wine when they taste it, but did you know that you are born into your own unique world of flavour sensations? With the global explosion in wine consumption a lot of research is being done on just how people experience taste. While the science behind the discoveries is not fully understood, researchers have determined that those taste buds on the tip of your tongue can be broken down into three basic categories: tasters, non-tasters and super-tasters. These classifications in turn determine your sensitivity to sweet, sour, bitter, salty, and savoury flavours.

CBC television is producing a primetime documentary on wine, and the people who love it. As part of the production, a documentary team will be accompanying the iYellow Wine Club on their latest outing to Niagara wine country. During the tour researchers from Brock University's Oenology department will be filmed conducting a taste test to determine who in the group are tasters, non-tasters and super-tasters. The differences between these categories are truly remarkable. This may help explain why that bottle of wine your friend is raving about, tastes kind of boring to you. "

Episode should be airing in Spring 2008 - we'll keep you posted!
