In Memory of Robert Mondavi

Robert Mondavi was an inspiration and wine visionary. He helped to bring California's wine industry to the place it is now. He was inspired by Europe and wanted to bring that lifestyle to North America. In mid May at age 94 he passed away in his California home. Mondavi had been in the wine business for his entire life. He was the key figure in making sure that new world labels included the varietals rather than a generic labeling system.

If Robert taught us anything it is that wine should be a valuable part of your lifestyle and can not only enhance your life, it can also elongate it. I hope we all have the chance to live life as Mondavi did and enjoy life well into our 90's. The world will miss Robert Mondavi, but his wine legacy continues and will forever inspire others (such as us) working in the wine industry.
