SUMMER WINE TOUR

The summer wine tour was amazing - if you didn't come out, you definitely missed out on an incredible day in Niagara Wine Country. We went to Henry of Pelham in St. Catharines. It is a very small, family run winery. Henry of Pelham put their heart and soul into their petit wine production, and come out with some of the best wine in Niagara. We were fortunate enough to do a VIP barrel tasting of their 2005 Baco Noir Reserve. It was spectacular, the best Baco around if you ask me (look for an upcoming writup on the Baco Noir Reserve 2004). Daniel Speck, the VP of Marketing led us on a VIP tour and tasting and shared with his family history, personal wine making stories and gave us a phenomenal led tasting of 4 Henry of Pelham Reserve wines (This was by far the best winery all day).

We also stopped at Hillebrand and Jackson Triggs Winery and had tasting and tours. Both of these wineries were very large in size and also have a much larger production capacity. They mass produce many of their products. You can buy Hillebrand and Peller Estates products here in Toronto at all Vineyards Estate Wines retail stores. You can also buy all Jackson Triggs and Inniskillen Products from all the Wine Rack Retail Stores throughout the GTA.

The vineyards were green and lush and although it did rain a little we all had a great time all day, tasting wine, eating lunch, and touring around Niagara on the Lake.

I am planning a Fall wine tour in the end of September, beginning of October stay tuned for another wine adventure soon!
