We started off the Festival with our very own Santé Kickoff Tasting at the Fine Wine Reserve, which included a tour of our wine cellar. Then Paxton brought 2 of our wine club members, Tom and Scott, to Thursday night's event at the Carlu. They discovered a world of wine at the "International Wine tasting" with 90 wineries, 14 countries, and over 300 great wines!
Christyn Edwards, a wine club member and myself (Ange) had the amazing experience of being part of a wine tasting Saturday morning at the Park Hyatt. Angie MacRae and Stacey Metulynsky, who co-host The Food Network's "This Food and that Wine" lead us through 8 different wines. The tasting was very interactive and we had a plate of food where we experimented with different wine and food matches to see which wine tasted best with each food. It was an amazing afternoon, we met some great people and best of all got to sit and chat with Angie and Stacey! They were a blast!!
Saturday night we were off to the Royal Ontario Museum for the festival Finale "Cool Wines and Hot Sounds". The tasting had over 57 wineries and some great wine, some even specially uncorked just for the evening! The Hot Sounds consisted of international Saxophonist Neil Brathwaite, singer Chris Rouse and their band combined their talent to create a magical evening of jazz and R&B.
We hope you got out to enjoy your passport tastings in Yorkville, but if you didn't you better remember next year as this is a NOT TO BE MISSED event!!
