Pax and I were very excited when we were told that we would be able to attend the Niagara Wine Auction this Year, which is a charitable event with proceeds going towards SickKids Foundation and the St. Catharines Hospital Foundation. We went down to Niagara on a hot June evening and got to drink wine at the VIP reception at Peller Estates Winery.
The VIP night's theme this year was "Pink" so appropriately I wore a cute pink dress and sipped on Ice Cuvee Rose and Peller Rose all night. Even though Pax didn't wear anything pink for the evening, his glass of Peller Rose was the perfect pink accessory! We got to eat pink Icewine Cotton Candy, pink candied nuts and many other pink food items - great job Chef Parsons - it was so yummy. We were fortunate enough to meet John Peller, who founded the auction, now in its 2nd year and I was able to catchup an old friend, John Howard (Founder of Meglomaniac Wines).
We also were able to attend the Garden Party on Saturday, where both Pax and I got to chat with 90210 legend Jason Priestly. Yes that is right, I got to shake Brendan Walsh's hand! He was in Niagara for the first time ever and was filming the opening episode for Hollywood and Vines.
Saturday was also a very cool day, because they were auctioning off a weekend for 5 couples to one of our Extreme Wine Weekends that are being offered at Peller Estates Winery and hosted by us! Overall is was a great weekend and we can't wait to go back again next year!!
