It's winter time alright, but don't fret, beca
use it's also Winterlicious! Toronto's Prix-Fixe food festival has been under way since January 25th, and you can still take advantage of it until February 7th.

To see all participating restaurants and their menus
Toronto.com is a great resource.

As I scrolled through the participating restaurants, one in particular stood out. A restaurant we've been meaning to highlight
for awhile now - Crystal Five, known as C5, at the Royal Ontario Museum (100 Queen's Park Avenue).

Why not take in the new "
Dinos Are Back" exhibit and then go enjoy a Prix-Fixe menu in one of the city's most impressive settings.

Ange, myself and a couple of our friends went to the C5 lounge a few months back for, yep you guessed it, a couple glasses of vino. And the architecture, ambiance and uniqueness of the place was absolutely breathtaking! (The wines were good too, and they have some great Royal Ontario Wines as well...meaning pricey, superb wines of Ontario).

I used to be a Toronto City Tour Guide on those red double decker buses that you've probably seen go by a zillion times (haha, I know, that was me!). Anyways, when we'd pass by the new ROM Crystal it never failed to wow tourists, so don't take it for granted! If you haven't checked it out yet, please do so.

And make sure you go to C5, which is on the fifth level - hence the name. You've never seen anything like it, and C5 is perhaps the coolest room of the new addition.

If you're not up for the exhibit, you won't
hurt my feelings, but I strongly encourage you to check out the restaurant and/or lounge - and by the way you don't need a ROM admission ticket to get up their either. Now that I've said all this, I'll have to get back there soon and take my own advice! Can't wait!

If you don't happen take advantage of Winterlicious this winter, at least consume some Icewine - that's surely a noble winterlicious act as well! You can taste some free samples at Vineyards Estate Wines (228 Queen's Quay) or you can catch the last weekend of the
Icewine Festival this weekend.

My final mention is Reds Bistro, who we featured for last summer's Summerlicious. Reds is participating again for this year's Winterlicious and Taylor Thompson, the Head Sommelier there, is a great guy and will be sure to take care of you. And if the food is half as good as it was in the Summer, it's sure to be fantastic. To see our Reds article and slideshow please click here.

Cheers to Winter!
