Via Rail Wine Tour - An Annual Event

Tour Review by Angela Aiello
There was no where else to be on Saturday September 12th than on the iYellow Wine Club's Via Rail Wine Train Tour!

58 people. 6 wineries. 1 wine train. countless wines and one unforgettable day in wine country.

The day began at about 10:30 am. Everyone arrived on time and ready for the day. After segregating everyone into Bus #1 and Bus #2 everyone jumped on board the Via Rail wine train. The train took off and as we popped open a bottle of Vineland Estates Chardonnay everyone cheered to get the day started. After the Chardonnay we sampled the Vineland Estates Elevation and also were able to try the new VICE from Vineland. The trip down to wine country was nothing short of delicious. A great way to start the day!

Bus #1 Hosted by Paxton Allewell and Melissa Duff started the day stopping at Lailey, getting a VIP winemaker tasting with Winemaker Derek Barnett, then enjoyed the tastes of Stratus and finished the day with a great experience at Konzelmann. Want to see pictures? Click here>>

Bus #2 Hosted by Angela Aiello and Carlissa DeRose started the day off by getting a VIP barrell tasting at Inniskillin Winery with a surprise guest appearance by Inniskillin Co-Founder Donald Ziraldo who drove up in his Ferrari just to say hello to us! Then they were off to Pillitteri with a VIP winemaker tasting with Marc Bradshaw. Marc was nice enough to sign all of our bottles, which will be a wondeful reminder of the day when we open it with friends. And to end the day everyone finished with an outdoor tasting at Strewn and a group shot right beside the vineyards. To see pictures of click here>>

It was an amazing day to remember and a good time was had by all! The tour was so popular it may just become an annual event. So stay tuned for next year's Via Rail Wine Tour!
